Limited edition plate (1986) from China National Arts & Crafts and master artisan Zhao Huimin. Based on the classic 18th century romance novel ‘A Dream of Red Mansions’ or Hung Lou Meng.
Pao-Chai, aka Xue Baochai, is represented in first plate in the series. She is described as worldly-wise and tactful; beautiful and ambitious.
Plate is in excellent condition.
Yuan-Chun (Jia Yuanchun) is second in the series. She is the eldest sister, originally a lady-in-waiting who becomes an Imperial Consort due to her virtue and learning.
